Hoshiarpur, October 3 (Daljit Ajnoha):- On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, the couple blood donors Bahadur Singh Sidhu and Jatinder Kaur Sidhu, popularly known as the “Star Couple Blood Donor,” reached the Blood Bank at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur and donated blood together for the 37th time. The day is observed in India to promote voluntary, non-remunerated and regular blood donation.
Individually, Bahadur Singh Sidhu has donated blood for the 72nd time, while Jatinder Kaur Sidhu has donated for the 37th time. It is noteworthy that the couple is associated with several social organizations and has been continuously contributing to social welfare activities.
On the occasion, Senior Medical Officer of Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, Dr. Neha Pal, honoured the Sidhu couple and said that the youth should also draw inspiration from the couple, come forward for social welfare activities and make blood donation an important part of their lives.
Dr. Gurika, In-charge of the Blood Bank, Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur; Lab Technician Sandeep Singh; Madam Kamal; Madam Harjit Rani; and Balkirat Kaur Sidhu were also present on the occasion.
