Hoshiarpur: The Shiromani Akali Dal is set to achieve a major victory in Ward No. 40. Akali leader Harjit Singh Matharu made this statement today while accompanying social worker Dr. Harpal for the filing of his nomination papers.
Speaking to the media, Harjit Singh Matharu noted that Ward No. 40 is reserved for the Backward Classes (BC), and the Shiromani Akali Dal has always accorded the Backward Classes their due respect and recognition. For this reason, the residents of the ward will cast their mandate in favor of the Akali Dal this time.
Expressing gratitude to Sanjeev Talwar, the party's Hoshiarpur constituency in-charge, Matharu stated that by awarding the ticket to a genuine, grassroots social worker, Talwar has ensured the party's victory in the ward. He asserted that the entire ward would unite to ensure the victory of the Shiromani Akali Dal candidate and send him to the Municipal Corporation.
Prominent figures present on the occasion included Jatinder Singh Lali Bajwa (District President, Urban), Sanjeev Talwar (Constituency In-charge), Varinder Singh (General Secretary), along with a large number of other key Shiromani Akali Dal leaders and party workers.
