Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), 18 February:- Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and led by Minister for Social Security, Women & Child Development, Dr. Baljeet Kaur, the ongoing campaign “Our Elders, Our Pride” organized the second block-level special health and assistance camp for senior citizens on 18 February 2026, Wednesday at Village Swaada, Block Kharar. Chief Guest for the event was Field Officer Gurmeet Singh Sohi.
District Social Security Officer, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Navdeep Kaur informed that during the camp, a large number of senior citizens attended and underwent health check-ups conducted by expert medical teams. Free medicines, eyeglasses, and other necessary facilities were provided to them.
She further added that pension schemes for needy elderly citizens and issuance of Senior Citizen Cards were completed on-site. In addition, the seniors were made aware of various government welfare schemes, legal aid services, and ways to protect themselves from bank frauds.
Navdeep Kaur also mentioned that similar special health and assistance camps will soon be organized in other blocks of SAS Nagar (Mohali) so that the maximum number of senior citizens can benefit from government facilities.
