Hansi: Sanjeev Tyagi, Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Health Engineering Department, visited the Karn Kunj and Barwala Road areas in Ward No. 13 to assess the situation regarding the long-standing problems of sewage overflow and waterlogging. During the inspection, local residents apprised him of the issues and demanded a permanent solution.
Residents requested that the main sewerage line running from Radheshyam Temple to Barwala Road be replaced with a new pipeline of 18-inch capacity to provide a lasting remedy for the recurring sewage overflow and waterlogging.
During the inspection, citizens reported severe waterlogging in the area during the rainy season. This road serves as a major route for school buses, private vehicles, and the general public. Many people have suffered injuries, and vehicles have sustained damage due to the waterlogging. They urged the department to provide a quick resolution.
Residents of Ward Nos. 12 and 13 stated that the constant overflowing of the sewerage line causes dirty water to reach their homes. Often, contaminated water mixes with the drinking water supply, posing health risks.
During the inspection, XEN Sanjeev Tyagi instructed the concerned officials to conduct a technical assessment of the site and take necessary action, assuring a speedy resolution to the problem.
Present on the occasion were Yogesh Dhamija (JE, Public Health Engineering Department), Deepak Munjal (Councilor, Ward No. 13), Ramesh Madan (Nominated Councilor and former Councilor, Municipal Council), social activists Ashok Nangru, Tilak Raj Wadhwa, Sandeep Kankarwal, Gaurav, Ajay Munjal, Subhash, and Shyam, along with numerous local residents from Ward Nos. 12 and 13. Everyone demanded that the department ensure a permanent solution to the area's sewerage and waterlogging issues.
