New Delhi:- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has taken a tough stance in a high-level meeting held in New Delhi on the strategic partnership between India and Poland. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar expressed his objection to the 'selective and inappropriate' targeting of India in the name of the Russia-Ukraine war in front of Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar gave a stern warning without naming Pakistan. He said that Poland should adopt 'zero tolerance' towards terrorism and should not directly or indirectly support countries that promote cross-border terrorism.
Jaishankar raised India's concerns during his meeting with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in New Delhi. During the meeting, the two countries reviewed the expansion of the India-Poland strategic partnership and exchanged views on key regional and global developments.
Welcoming the Polish delegation, Jaishankar said that the meeting is taking place at a time of "considerable upheaval" in global affairs, which makes it even more important for countries from different regions to exchange views.
Jaishankar stressed that India and Poland, whose relations were elevated to the level of strategic partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Warsaw in August 2024, will review the Action Plan 2024-28. The two countries will explore possibilities for deeper cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, defence, security, clean technology and digital innovation.
But the conversation soon turned to geopolitics, particularly the Ukraine conflict and its wider implications. Jaishankar said he had clearly shared India's views with Minister Sikorski on several occasions, including in New York and Paris, and reiterated them in New Delhi. Jaishankar added that in doing so, he had repeatedly stressed that selective targeting of India is unjustified and unjust. I reiterate the same today. India has repeatedly made it clear that it wants dialogue and diplomacy to end the conflict and refrains from siding with any particular group by targeting selective targets.
