Hoshiarpur:- As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, with the aim of ensuring safety of students, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Amandeep Kaur Ghumman on Tuesday conducted a special checking campaign of school vehicles in the district under Safe School Vehicle Policy. 
During this, total 15 school buses of various schools were checked thoroughly. During checking, necessary documents of buses, fitness certificate, permit, insurance, pollution certificate, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, GPS, CCTV cameras and other safety parameters were checked. 
During checking, challans of 2 school buses were issued on finding violation of safety rules. RTO Amandeep Kaur Ghumman said that safety of students is the biggest priority of administration and it is mandatory to follow all safety parameters prescribed for school vehicles. 
She clarified that such special checking campaigns under Safe School Vehicle Policy will continue regularly in future also. Strict action will be taken under Motor Vehicles Act against vehicle drivers/operators ignoring rules, so that safe and proper transport facility can be provided to students.
