Chandigarh, July 14:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini has presented a grand blueprint to completely transform the state’s higher education system through research, innovation and emerging technologies, which will play a key role in making a developed India and a developed Haryana by the year 2047.
The Chief Minister chaired a review meeting of the Higher Education Department and Vice Chancellors on Vision 2047 at the Civil Secretariat late on Monday evening and announced that a ‘Haryana State Research Fund’ of Rs 20 crore has been set up to accelerate Haryana’s innovation-driven transformation, under which financial assistance has been provided to 90 research projects of 27 higher education institutions of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government, fulfilling its promise, has established colleges for girl students within a radius of 20 km in the state, which is facilitating the girl students in getting education.
Research projects will solve real challenges
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the 'Haryana State Research Fund' will not limit universities and colleges to just book knowledge but will transform them into solution centers for the state's ground problems. All these 90 projects are focused on Haryana-specific topics like agriculture, groundwater conservation, water management, climate change, health services, artificial intelligence (AI), rural development, industrial innovation and inclusive education.
Industries should also get the benefit of research
The Chief Minister said that research should not be limited to publications and laboratories only. Its direct benefit should be given to our farmers, industries and the local community. When academic knowledge is converted into practical technologies, patents, startups and better public services, only then will the standard of living of the people of Haryana improve.
Live tracking of academic progress will be done with 'NEEV' portal
For the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in higher education, the Chief Minister reviewed the (NEEV) portal. This portal will do live tracking of research, patents, placements, startups and student results of all the institutions of the state. Dr. Raj Nehru, Executive Director of the Chief Minister and Director General of the Swaran Jayanti Haryana Rajkosh Management Institute, has played a significant role in preparing and taking forward this data-based portal.
Schemes will be effective in giving world-class recognition to higher education
The Chief Minister told about many other important schemes taken by the government to link education with employment and entrepreneurship that model Sanskriti colleges will be established in every district of the state. Autonomous AI Digital College will be established for modern technologies. To encourage research, reimbursement of patent registration fee up to Rs 50,000 will be provided.
'Higher Education Quality and Research Excellence Fund' created
The Chief Minister informed that a 'Higher Education Quality and Research Excellence Fund' of Rs 10 crore has been created. A single window digital platform has been created to connect students with internships, apprenticeships and direct placements. Haryana State Higher Education Council Chairman Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma presented detailed information about these model Sanskriti colleges.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that with these visionary initiatives, a research-based, technology-enabled and employment-oriented education system is being built in Haryana, which will make the state a leading hub of innovation, skills and entrepreneurship within the country in the coming times.
Haryana to be established among the leading centers of the country in the field of education. Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that by the year 2047, our goal is to establish Haryana among the leading centers of India in the field of quality higher education, research, innovation, skills, employment and entrepreneurship.
