Patiala, January 8:- Punjabi Sahit Sabha Patiala is organizing a literary event dedicated to the warm memory of the famous Punjabi poet Balbir Jalalabadi, who was associated with the society for a long time, on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 9.30 am at the Language Department, Punjab, Sheran Wala Gate, Patiala.
Giving this information, the President of the society, Dr. Darshan Singh ‘Aasht* and General Secretary Davinder Patialvi said that the event will be presided over by Dr. Dharminder Singh, Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, Linguistics, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, and the chief guest will be Dr. Mohan Tyagi, eminent Punjabi poet and Head of the Department of Punjabi Literary Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
The special guests of this event will be Dr. GS Anand, President of Giandeep Sahit Manch, Patiala, Malwa Punjabi Sahit Sabha (Regd.) Rampura Phul, Darshan Singh ‘Preetiman*, Editor of the literary magazine ‘Preetiman*, Dr. Amarjit Kaunke and poet Ranjit Kaur Swai (Malerkotla). In this event, apart from discussing the life and works of Jalalabadi, various works will be read and discussed.
