Hoshiarpur:- National Pulse Polio Campaign is being run on 28, 29 and 30 June 2026 with the aim of making every child between the ages of 0 and 5 years safe from polio in the district. In this regard, the campaign poster was released today at the Civil Surgeon's office by Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal and other officials of the Health Department.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal said that polio is a serious and disabling disease, the only effective way to prevent it is to administer polio drops to every child from time to time. He said that on the first day of the campaign, on June 28, two drops of polio will be administered to children at polio booths set up across the district, while on June 29 and 30, teams of the health department will go door to door to administer polio drops to the children who have been left behind.
Dr. Mandeep Kamal said that even if the child has been administered polio drops many times before, it is still very important to administer the drops during every pulse polio campaign, as they further strengthen the immunity of the children and provide complete protection from the polio virus.
He appealed to the residents of the district to ensure that every child between the ages of 0 and 5 years is administered two drops of polio during June 28, 29 and 30 and to fully cooperate with the teams of the health department, so that the goal of keeping Hoshiarpur district and Punjab polio-free can be achieved successfully.
On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. T.P. Singh, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Seema Garg, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh, District Program Manager Mohammad Asif, Epidemiologist Dr. Shailesh, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ravinder Jassal and Deputy Mass Media Officer Balvir Kaur were also present.
