Nawanshahr (Des Raj Bali):- The Anti-Fascist Attacks Front, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, is organising a rally and protest in Nawanshahr on October 17, demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner of India, the repeal of the Chief Election Commissioners and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act, 2023, and the cancellation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and restoration of the 2025 electoral roll.

Sharing this information, Front leaders Kulwinder Singh Waraich, Kuldeep Singh Daurka and Jaswinder Singh Bhangal said that a rally would be held at 11 a.m. at the Nawanshahr bus stand before the protest.

They said that the manner in which the police unleashed a reign of terror in Delhi and violated constitutional and democratic rights had completely exposed what they described as the fascist face of the BJP-RSS government.

They said this had clearly demonstrated that the Modi government was advancing its rule with the support of the police, adding that this must be opposed on a large scale.
