Hoshiarpur: On the occasion of Prime Minister Safe Motherhood Campaign Day, as per the directions of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra; Special screening camps were organized across the district today by the Health Department for screening of pregnant women in health institutions. During these camps organized at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, SDH Dasuha, Mukerian, Garhshankar and all CHCs and Block PHCs, all the tests of pregnant women, especially those with risk factors, were done free of cost.
Sharing the information, the Civil Surgeon said that if a pregnant woman is checked regularly during her pregnancy, her delivery becomes safe and easy. Therefore, all pregnant women should get all their checkups and all the tests prescribed by the doctor done on time during delivery so that pregnant women with risk factors can be identified and treated on time.
ASHA workers should identify the pregnant women with risk factors on time and bring them to these camps. So that by conducting necessary tests and providing health services to pregnant mothers on time, the risks during childbirth can be avoided and safe childbirth can be ensured. Sharing further information, he said that in government hospitals, both cesarean and normal deliveries are done absolutely free of cost and special care is taken of the woman.
In the hospital, the pregnant woman's food, accommodation and medicine are absolutely free. During these special camps, the pregnant women who come are examined by expert doctors and they are told about the precautions to be taken during childbirth.
