Ratía, January 23: Under the public awareness campaign being conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mr. Siddhant Jain, IPS, the district police are continuously educating the public about protection against cybercrimes, safe use of social media, and drug de-addiction.
In this connection, a special awareness program was organized in the Ratia area by a police team under the able leadership of Woman Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunita, posted at the Cyber ??Cell Police Station, Fatehabad. In this program, the general public was given detailed information about the increasing incidents of cybercrimes and measures to prevent them.
During the awareness campaign, people were informed about how cybercriminals are targeting people through fake calls, OTP fraud, social media hacking, fake links, and online scams. The public was also advised not to trust any unknown calls, messages, or links and not to share their personal information, bank details, or OTP with anyone.
During this time, people were also specifically made aware of new cyber fraud methods like digital arrest, in which fraudsters try to intimidate and threaten people through video calls by posing as police or government officials. People were clarified that there is no need to panic if they receive such a call and they should immediately contact the cyber helpline or the nearest police station.
Along with this, the police team motivated the youth and the general public to stay away from drugs, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and engage in positive social activities. Those present were told that drug addiction not only harms an individual's health but also becomes a serious problem for the family and society.
Woman Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunita said that the Cyber ??Police Station Fatehabad is always ready to ensure the safety of the general public, and reporting any cybercrime to the police immediately makes it possible to take timely action against the criminals.
