Chandigarh:- On the eve of 80th Independence Day, the PGI celebrated the Tree Plantation Diwas by planting tree saplings in the PGI Campus. The Director, Dr. Vivek Lal after hoisting the flag at Kairon Block, kick started the campaign by planting sapling of Plumeria acutifolia(champa) in the lawn of Library of the PGI Institute.
Besides this, Worthy DDA Sh. Pankaj Rai, F.A Sh. Ravinder Singh, M.S. Prof. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Jain, Dr. Sameer Aggarwal alongwith other faculty members and PGI staff planted the saplings with the help of Horticulture Wing of the Institute. PGI has set a target for the year 2026-27 to plant 300 saplings of trees, shrubs and climbers which will be helpful in beautifying & improving the aesthetics of the institute besides increasing the green cover of the Institute.
