Sangrur, September 12:- Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana is organising a one-day Kisan Mela at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rauni, District Patiala, on September 15, 2026, as part of the series of Kisan Melas being organised during the month of September, with the objective of "Adopt scientific methods, increase farm income".
Giving further information in this regard, Dr. Mandeep Singh, In-charge (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur, said that the Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, will preside over the Kisan Mela.
He further said that the Kisan Mela is being organised under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. During the Kisan Mela, agricultural experts will provide information about improved varieties of Rabi crops and improved cultivation techniques, farm machinery, cultivation of winter vegetables, horticulture, soil and water testing, oilseeds and pulses, conservation of natural resources and subsidiary occupations. In addition, women farmers will be provided information about household management. Agricultural scientists of the university will hold discussions with farmers regarding their agricultural problems.
Agricultural exhibitions will be organised at the Mela by PAU, Ludhiana, government departments, the agricultural industry, Farmer Producer Organisations, self-help groups and progressive farmers. Special arrangements will be made for the sale of seeds of Rabi crops, seed kits of winter vegetables, pulse and oilseed kits, seed kits of Rabi fodder crops, fruit plants and agricultural literature published by PAU. Soil and water samples brought by farmers will also be collected for testing.
Dr. Mandeep Singh has appealed to all farmer brothers to attend the Kisan Mela at KVK, Rauni in large numbers along with their families and associates.
