Hoshiarpur (Daljit Ajnoha):- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Punjab president Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri issued a strongly worded press statement criticising the government over the brutal murder of young Parvinder Singh Jhota, who had firmly stood against drugs and the drug mafia in Mansa. He said that Parvinder Jhota’s murder had exposed the failure of the Punjab government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign. When even brave young people fighting against drug traffickers are not safe, the level of security available to ordinary citizens can easily be gauged.

Dr. Karimpuri demanded that all the demands of the victim’s family be accepted without delay and that the killers be given exemplary punishment. He asked the people of Punjab whether there was any justification left for giving another chance to the four parties—Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)—which he held responsible for the state’s present deterioration. He said these four parties should be rejected for damaging Punjab’s progress and ruining its younger generation.

Calling upon people to join the BSP’s ‘Punjab Sambhalo Campaign’, Dr. Karimpuri announced that the party was pursuing the campaign with full force to uproot the drug mafia in Punjab and save mothers’ sons from falling into the jaws of death. He appealed to Punjabis to extend their full support and blessings to the campaign so that the state could be made completely drug-free.
