Garhshankar:- In the state-level rally being organized by Old Scale, Old Pension, Allowance Restoration Morcha in Sangrur, a large number of teachers left for the rally from Garhshankar tehsil of Hoshiarpur district under the leadership of the state leaders of the Morcha Mukesh Kumar, Sukhdev Dancewal, Brij Lal, Karnail Singh, Ajay Kumar, Khushwinder Kaur and Madam Inderjit Kaur.
On this occasion, the leaders, Jagdeep Kumar, Jaspreet Singh, Resham Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Sumanpreet Singh said that the rally being organized by the Morcha in Sangrur today against the government that has run away from the demands of implementing the old scale and old pension of the employees and the 37 types of allowances cut including rural and border area allowance and the pending 16% DA has been well attended.
The leaders said that the governments are not implementing the decisions of the courts in favor of the teachers, on the contrary, they immediately implement the decision that the court gives against the teachers, just like the court's decision regarding TET has made the compulsory test on the employees.
The leaders of the front said that for the first time in the history of the employees of Punjab, the Punjab government has not released a single installment of dearness allowance during the entire year, even though they are getting 16% dearness allowance less than the central employees. The employees have lagged behind the central employees in salaries while working without 37 types of allowances including rural allowance and border area allowance. The Punjab government is exploiting the employees recruited on or after 17-07-2020 by giving incomplete central scales.
The difference in the salary of these employees compared to the employees with old scales has become quite large, which is a clear violation of the law of equal work and equal pay for them. The Punjab government is implementing the court decisions regarding the Punjab pay scales in a crooked manner and is avoiding fixing salaries as per the 15% salary increase including the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission.
Despite the Punjab government issuing a notification regarding old pension on 18-10-2022, no steps have been taken towards opening GPF accounts and implementing old pension by issuing Standard Operative Procedure (SOP) as per the rules of the year 1972. Due to which the entire employee class is angry with the anti-employee policies of the Punjab government.
On this occasion, Balwinder Singh Khanpur, Baljit Singh Bora, Gurpreet Singh, Jarnail Singh Sikri, Gurpreet Singh, Manjinder Kumar, Narinder Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Jaswinder Singh etc. were present.
