Haroli/Una, September 24 (Rajveer Chopra):- NSS Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal at Prof. Simmi Agnihotri Government College Haroli today. The programme was organised by the NSS unit of the college, in which volunteers participated enthusiastically. The programme commenced with a plantation activity carried out through the hands of Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumar. NSS In-charge Dr. Shakuntla Rana welcomed and honoured the Principal.
During the programme, the volunteers conveyed messages on important issues such as social service, cleanliness, environmental conservation and de-addiction through a poster competition, awareness activities and cultural presentations.
On the occasion, Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumar of the college participated as the special guest. Motivating the NSS volunteers to contribute towards social service, he said that the National Service Scheme is an important means of developing a sense of discipline, leadership, cooperation and social responsibility among students.
At the conclusion of the programme, participating students were encouraged by presenting them with mementoes, and the role of NSS in addressing social concerns was highlighted. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
