Nawanshahr- Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh assured the residents of the district that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders, petrol, or diesel in the district. He appealed to the people not to panic regarding the availability of essential commodities.
He stated that officials of the concerned departments are closely monitoring gas agencies. He further said that black marketing will not be allowed under any circumstances in the district. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the district administration is closely monitoring the availability of diesel, petrol, and LPG to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience.
He added that regular meetings are being held with officials, LPG distributors, and petroleum dealers to review the stock of essential commodities in the district. He assured that sufficient quantities of LPG and petroleum products are available, and there is no need for people to panic.
He urged residents not to engage in panic buying of petrol, diesel, or LPG cylinders, stating that such behavior creates unnecessary problems and disrupts the supply chain management.
He also informed that the government has already enforced the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) to prevent misuse of essential commodities. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in black marketing of essential items such as LPG cylinders and petroleum products.
He emphasized that the district administration is committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply of essential commodities for residents. He advised people to book LPG cylinders properly and clarified that no cylinder will be issued without booking.
He also urged residents to complete their pending e-KYC by visiting their respective agencies to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply and to share the OTP with the delivery personnel during delivery.
