Chandigarh, 7 November- The 65th Annual Scientific Conference of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) [NAMSCON 2025] commenced today at PGIMER, uniting over 300 leading medical professionals, researchers, and academicians for three days of scientific discourse and celebration.
Day one emphasized innovation, preparedness, and compassionate care amid technological advances. Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, remarked, “The first day vividly demonstrated how technology, innovation, and empathy can coexist to shape healthcare’s future. It reaffirmed our fraternity’s values—scientific rigor, service to humanity, and translating knowledge into impact.” He highlighted the PGIMER-NAMS collaboration as a shared vision for cutting-edge, inclusive, and humane healthcare education and research.
Scientific sessions kicked off with a CME-cum-workshop on Critical Care and Disaster Management, focusing on resilient first-response systems and hospital readiness for mass emergencies through scenario-based discussions.
The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) session united clinicians, policymakers, and researchers to promote evidence-informed decisions, rationalizing innovations for equitable, cost-effective access.
A futuristic session on Artificial Intelligence and OMICS Technologies explored their role in combating antimicrobial resistance and advancing personalized medicine via AI analytics and genomic platforms.
Young researchers trained in a workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis using AI and Machine Learning for transparent, high-quality evidence synthesis.
Sessions on Biosafety and High-Risk Pathogen Handling stressed laboratory preparedness and international compliance against emerging threats.
Parallel workshops on Telemedicine and Digital Health showcased technology’s role in bridging accessibility gaps, especially in remote areas.
The day ended with “Mastering Manuscript and Protocol Writing using GenAI,” empowering participants to use generative AI for scientific writing and publication.
Tomorrow, November 8, 2025, the 65th NAMS Convocation takes center stage at 5:00 PM in NINE Auditorium, PGIMER. Chief Guest Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, will deliver the address. Guest of Honour Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, and NAMS President Dr. Digambar Behera will attend.
The ceremony will honor newly elected Fellows, Associate Fellows, and Members for contributions to medicine, research, and public health, featuring an academic procession, formal declaration, and awards in a grand celebration of excellence.
