Mohali, September 27:- As per the directions of Shri Varun Sharma, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District S.A.S. Nagar, during the campaign launched by District Mohali Police against anti-social elements, a team led by Inspector Harminder Singh, In-charge, Operation Cell Mohali, under the supervision of Shri Akashdeep Aulakh, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Operations), Shri Saurav Jindal, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), and Shri Rajan Parminder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation), District S.A.S. Nagar, has succeeded in arresting two accused and recovering 53 grams of ICE (Methamphetamine, commercial quantity) and 50 grams of heroin from their possession.

On September 26, 2026, a police party of Operation Cell Mohali was patrolling while coming from village Badmajra towards Raipur. When the police party reached near the T-point at village Raipur, a Honda City car bearing registration number CH03-S-5050 was found parked near the T-point. Two young men were seen standing leaning against the vehicle. On seeing the police party, they tried to flee. They were apprehended and their vehicle was checked on suspicion, during which ICE (Methamphetamine), heroin, a digital weighing scale and transparent polythene packets were recovered from the vehicle. Accordingly, FIR No. 257 dated September 26, 2026, under Sections 21/22-61-85 of the NDPS Act, was registered at Police Station Balongi, and the accused were arrested.


Interrogation of the accused:

1. Dishant Garg, son of Kapil Dev, resident of House No. 18, village Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh, Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh, aged about 24 years. He has passed Class 10 and is unmarried. Two cases under the NDPS Act are already registered against the accused at Police Station Solan, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh, and Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh.

2. Sanjay, son of Kamal Thapa, resident of village Dihari, Police Station Kandaghat, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh, aged about 26 years. He has passed Class 10 and is unmarried. One case of theft is already registered against the accused at Police Station Solan, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

  The accused are being produced before the court and police remand is being sought. They are being interrogated regarding the persons from whom they used to purchase heroin/ICE and the places where they supplied it. Their associates involved in this illegal trade will also be arrested soon.
