S.A.S. Nagar, September 10:-As per the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, District S.A.S. Nagar, Shri Varun Sharma, IPS, the District Mohali Police, under its special campaign against drugs, arrested three persons through the Operation Cell team and recovered 120 grams of heroin from their possession.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Shri Saurav Jindal, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Shri Akashdeep, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Operation), and Shri Rajan Parminder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation), by Inspector Harminder Singh, In-charge, Operation Cell, and his team.

Details of the Incident:
On September 7, 2026, the police party of the Operation Cell was patrolling from the Sector 79/80 light point towards the Gurudwara Sahib. During this time, three suspicious youths were seen coming from the direction of the 79/80 lights. On seeing the official police vehicle, they attempted to move away, following which the police searched them on suspicion. During the search, a total of 120 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 274 dated 07.09.2026 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Sohana, District S.A.S. Nagar, and all three accused were arrested.

Details of the Arrested Accused:
Gurpinder Singh alias Peelu, son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Harar Khurd, Ramdas, District Amritsar Rural. He is 33 years old, has passed Class 12 and is a truck driver. Three cases under the NDPS Act have previously been registered against the accused in Amritsar.
Lovepreet Singh alias Love, son of Jaswant Singh, resident of Harar Khurd, Ramdas, District Amritsar Rural. He is 29 years old, has passed Class 10 and is engaged in agriculture. Two cases have previously been registered against the accused in Amritsar.
Gursewak Singh alias Sega, son of Kashmir Singh, resident of Harar Khurd, Ramdas, District Amritsar Rural. He is about 25 years old, has passed Class 10 and is engaged in agriculture. Two cases under the NDPS Act have previously been registered against the accused in Amritsar.

Further Investigation:
During preliminary interrogation, it came to light that all three accused used to bring heroin from the Amritsar area and supply it in District S.A.S. Nagar as well as other districts. All three accused have been sent to two days’ police remand by the court.
The police are conducting detailed interrogation of the accused to obtain information about the source of the heroin supply and other persons connected with it. Further recovery and the arrest of persons connected with this network are also likely during the investigation.
