Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 21:- To curb the use of banned plastic and ensure environmental protection in the city, the Mohali Municipal Corporation conducted a special inspection drive in Phase 7 and the 3B2 Market. During the drive, challans were issued to shopkeepers found using banned single-use plastic items, plastic bags and prohibited plastic gift-wrapping materials.
During the campaign, the Municipal Corporation team educated shopkeepers about the environmental damage caused by plastic pollution and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly alternatives, such as cloth and jute bags. Shopkeepers were also instructed to comply with the relevant regulations and refrain from using or distributing prohibited plastic items.
