Sangrur, 4th August:- During the ongoing session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sangrur constituency MLA Mrs. Narinder Kaur Bharaj raised important public-interest issues related to the constituency effectively in the House. She demanded immediate restoration of four closed bus services from Sangrur, saying that due to closure of these routes, students, working people, women, farmers and common passengers are facing huge daily difficulties.
MLA Bharaj said in the House that due to closure of important bus services running on various routes including from Sangrur to Nabha, Bhawanigarh and Chandigarh, people are having to face a lot of trouble. She said that by restarting bus services on these routes, thousands of passengers will get direct benefit and people will get cheap, safe and convenient transport facility.
She also drew the attention of the government to the fact that the bus service running from Sangrur to Chandigarh at around 4 a.m. early morning should be restarted. She said that through this bus, students, working employees, patients and other passengers could reach Chandigarh on time, but after this service was stopped, people have to take support of expensive private vehicles.
MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj also raised an important issue related to Sangrur Civil Hospital in the Vidhan Sabha. She said that the Trauma Centre built by the Transport Department, despite the basic infrastructure being ready, could not function at its full capacity due to lack of required medical staff. She demanded that doctors, nurses and other required staff for the Trauma Centre be appointed soon, so that accident victims and other emergency patients can get quality treatment in time.
Along with this, MLA Bharaj also raised the issue of increasing the bed capacity of Sangrur Civil Hospital in the House. She said that keeping in view the continuously increasing number of patients, increasing the bed capacity of the hospital is the main need of the hour, so that people can get better and quality health services in their own district.
MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj expressed confidence that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann will soon and positively resolve these genuine issues related to people and better facilities will be provided to the people of Sangrur constituency in the field of transport and health services.
