Sangrur, July 25:- Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is continuously carrying out development work with the aim of further strengthening the infrastructure in the cities and providing better public facilities to every section. In this series, today, MLA of Sangrur constituency Mrs. Narinder Kaur Bharaj laid the foundation stone of a Divyang-friendly park to be built at a cost of Rs 138.75 lakh at Banasar Bagh. On this occasion, President of Municipal Council Sangrur S. Bhupinder Singh Nehal was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that the Punjab government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities and better infrastructure facilities for people from every section of the society. She said that the Divyangjan should also get access to public places without any obstacles and entertainment facilities. With this aim, this special disabled-friendly park is being developed in Sangrur.
He said that special ramps, wheelchair-friendly tracks, tactile pathways, disabled-friendly swings and other necessary facilities will be made available in this park for the disabled. Apart from this, landscaping, beautiful lawns, modern benches for sitting and necessary lighting will also be arranged to promote greenery in the park.
The MLA said that this park will provide a healthy and entertaining environment for the disabled as well as the elderly, children and other city residents. He said that for the all-round development of Sangrur city, the Punjab government is continuously approving development projects, which are further improving the appearance of the city.
Municipal Council Sangrur President S. Bhupinder Singh Nahal said that the construction of the park will be completed within the stipulated time as per high quality standards so that the people can get its benefits as soon as possible. On this occasion, Municipal Council officers, councilors, Aam Aadmi Party leaders, workers and a large number of city residents were present.
