Sangrur, July 27:- Under the 'Rangla Punjab' scheme initiated by the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann to further accelerate the all-round development of rural areas, development grant checks totaling Rs. 5,51,00,000 (Five Crore Fifty-One Lakh Rupees) were presented today to the Gram Panchayats of Sangrur constituency by MLA Narinder Kaur Bhraj.
A simple yet impressive event was organized in this regard at the PWD Rest House, Sangrur, which was attended by Sarpanchs and panchayat representatives of various Gram Panchayats.
While presenting the development grant checks to the panchayat representatives, MLA Narinder Kaur Bhraj stated that the Punjab government is committed to establishing villages as models of development, and concrete steps are continuously being taken in this direction.
She said that the state government's policy is to strengthen basic amenities in villages and provide people with a better standard of living. With this objective, necessary funds for development works are being released on time so that there is no delay in the implementation of any scheme.
The MLA stated that the released grants will be utilized for the construction of streets and drains, provision of clean drinking water, renovation of ponds, street lights, dharmashalas, cremation grounds, parks, playgrounds, and the development of other public basic infrastructure. She added that these development works will bring a major change in the landscape of the villages and directly benefit the people.
Narinder Kaur Bhraj appealed to all Sarpanchs and panchayat members to execute the development works with complete transparency, honesty, and high quality. She emphasized that the proper and rule-abiding utilization of government funds must be ensured so that every single rupee is spent on the welfare of the people.
She noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has prioritized rural development, and no village in the Sangrur constituency will be left behind in terms of development. She assured that based on the needs and priorities of the people, development works will continue at this same pace in the future as well.
On this occasion, development grant checks were presented to the Gram Panchayats of Changal, Khillrian, Mangwal, Saron, Bhindran, Balian, Bangawali, Balial, Bhattiwal Kalan, Bhattiwal Khurd, Bimbar, Bimbri, Gehlan, Jhaneri, Jaulian, Lakhewal, Majhi, Mehsampur, Jalan, Bhraj, Nadampur, Nandgarh, Fummanwal, Shahpur, Rampura, Faguwala, Kheri Gillan, Channo, Kheri Chandwan, and Harikrishanpura.
Officers of various departments, dignitaries, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
