Karnal, February 5:- The entire area of Karnal was shaken by the sudden sound of gunfire at night. Two bike-borne assailants opened fire on a beauty parlor and the house above it in Phusgarh village. The women present in the house narrowly escaped injury, while the assailants fled the scene after carrying out the attack.
Five Rounds Fired at Midnight
The incident occurred around 1 AM. The assailants first fired at the beauty parlor and then at the house above it, firing approximately five rounds. The ground floor of the house is rented out by the family for the beauty parlor. The sudden firing caused panic in the entire area.
Assailants Flee After Seeing People
As soon as the sound of gunfire was heard, people from the surrounding houses came out. Seeing themselves surrounded, the bike-borne assailants fled the scene. They also fired shots while escaping. Several bullet holes were found on the walls of the house and the parlor.
House Belongs to Balkar, Who Lives in America
The house that was targeted belongs to Balkar Lathar, who went to America about three years ago through the "donkey route" (illegal immigration). He spent 40 to 50 lakh rupees to go to America. Currently, he works as a driver there. His mother Rajpati and wife Seema live in the house and were present at the time of the incident.
Fear and Panic in the Family and Neighborhood
Since the firing, the family and the people of the neighborhood are in a state of fear. People say that such an incident had never happened in the area before. The sound of gunfire at midnight frightened children, women, and the elderly alike.
Investigation into Ransom or Enmity
The police are also investigating the incident from the angle of a ransom demand, although no prior enmity or threats have been confirmed so far. The police say that the investigation is being conducted from all angles.
Police Begin Investigation
Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot. Empty cartridges were recovered from the crime scene. Investigating officer Vinod said that footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being reviewed to identify the culprits. A case has been registered, and a search is underway for the accused.
