Una, May 27: Shikha Lakhanpal, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Una, informed that the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority has launched a special campaign titled ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’ with the objective of encouraging the general public to resolve disputes through mediation and mutual consent. The primary goal of this campaign is to raise public awareness regarding the speedy, simple, and amicable settlement of cases currently pending in the courts.
She explained that through this campaign, people are being made aware that mediation serves not only to save time and money but also proves instrumental in preserving mutual relationships. It is a non-adversarial process wherein a peaceful resolution is reached with the mutual consent of both parties involved.
She further stated that, under this campaign, efforts are being made to resolve civil, family, commercial, and compoundable criminal cases currently pending in the courts. Priority is being accorded to conciliable disputes such as matrimonial conflicts, motor accident claims, domestic violence, cheque bouncing cases, property partition issues, land acquisition matters, and consumer disputes.
Shikha Lakhanpal appealed to the general public to prioritize mediation for the resolution of their disputes and to actively participate in making the ‘Mediation for the Nation 2.0’ campaign a resounding success.
