Shri Chintpurni Ji (Una), June 15: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri reviewed the preparations for the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple development and expansion project on Monday and directed officials to expedite all formalities and commence construction work immediately.
He stated that, with the blessings of Maa Chintpurni Ji, they are continuously moving towards transforming this divine shrine into a grander, more attractive, and pilgrim-friendly destination. Approximately ?250 crore will be spent on the development, expansion, and beautification of the temple. Under the project, a world-class complex equipped with modern amenities will be developed for pilgrims, while preserving the original structure and sanctity of the temple's sanctum sanctorum.
He informed that the project's design and land acquisition processes are nearly complete, and construction work will begin soon. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will also formally lay the foundation stone for this ambitious project shortly.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that, just as several major temples and religious sites across the country have been expanded and redeveloped with modern amenities—and extensive infrastructure has been created for pilgrims at Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Vrindavan Dham—Mata Shri Chintpurni Dham will also undergo planned and grand development along similar lines. The temple complex will be equipped with modern facilities to ensure world-class amenities for pilgrims visiting from across the country and abroad, thereby giving a new boost to religious tourism in the state.
He stated that the state government aims to complete the first phase of the project within the next year so that pilgrims can benefit from modern amenities. To achieve this, regular monitoring of the construction work will be ensured, and all procedures will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He also appealed to the local public, stakeholders associated with the temple, and pilgrims visiting from within the country and abroad to extend their cooperation for the successful implementation of this ambitious project. He stated that with the blessings of Mata Chintpurni Ji and the cooperation of all, this project would establish a new identity for the state in terms of religion and tourism.
On this occasion, Sudarshan Singh Bablu (MLA, Chintpurni), Vivek Sharma (MLA, Kutlehar), and Satpal Raizada (former MLA, Una) accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the current status of the temple development and expansion project, as well as the proposed works. Officials from various departments, including SDM Amb Paras Agarwal, were also present.
The Deputy Chief Minister offered prayers at the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the state. He was also felicitated by the temple administration.
MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu remarked that the Mata Shri Chintpurni Dham is a major center of the state's religious, cultural, and spiritual identity. He expressed confidence that the speedy implementation of this ambitious project would provide better facilities for pilgrims and give a new direction to religious tourism.
