Hoshiarpur: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a major blow in Hoshiarpur when sitting AAP Councilor Advocate Manjit Kaur, along with her associates and Advocate Sukhbir Singh, bade farewell to the party and joined the Shiromani Akali Dal. This move has significantly strengthened the Shiromani Akali Dal in Hoshiarpur.
Welcoming the leaders warmly into the party fold, constituency in-charge Sanjeev Talwar stated that the Shiromani Akali Dal belongs to everyone who loves Punjab and 'Punjabiyat'. He assured that every party worker would be accorded due respect and honor. Lashing out at the current government, Talwar remarked that while Sardar Parkash Singh Badal always ensured basic amenities reached the last person in the queue, this "dishonest" government has humiliated the poor on every front by withdrawing their benefits.
Upon her return to the party, Councilor Advocate Manjit Kaur mentioned that she was an Akali by birth but had parted ways with the party for certain reasons. Praising Sanjeev Talwar, she noted that ever since he began fostering better coordination with Akali families, many families have become active in Akali politics once again from the comfort of their homes. Inspired by this renewed activity, she decided to rejoin her "mother party" today.
She expressed confidence that if the party placed its trust in her by awarding a ticket, she would secure a resounding victory and strengthen the hands of party president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal. Advocate Sukhbir Singh also joined the Shiromani Akali Dal along with his associates on this occasion. District President of the Scheduled Caste Cell, Prem Singh, and City President Sanjeev Thapar were also present at the event.
