Hisar:– "Auxiliary register for successful conception in animals" developed by scientists of Haryana Animal Science Center, Mahendragarh of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) has been granted official copyright by the Government of India. This copyright has been jointly granted to Dr. Davinder Singh, Dr. Jyoti Shunthwal, Dr. Anand Kumar Pandey and Dr. Sujoy Khanna.
On receiving the copyright, the scientists paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar Verma in his office. On this occasion, Research Director Dr. Sushila Maan and Regional Director Dr. Dinesh Mittal were also present. Congratulating the scientists, the Vice Chancellor said that such research-based material developed keeping in mind the needs of farmers will give a new direction to scientific and profitable dairy animal husbandry. He said that the objective of the university is to increase the income and productivity of livestock farmers by delivering the knowledge gained from research to them in a simple and practical form. He expressed confidence that in future also the scientists of the university will continue to provide new technologies to the animal husbandry sector through such farmer-friendly innovations.
This auxiliary register has been prepared as a step-by-step decision tree for livestock farmers, veterinarians and students. Its objective is to provide assistance in the scientific solution of reproductive problems like not coming into heat on time and not conceiving despite repeated insemination in dairy animals.
Through this decision tree, users can easily reach the appropriate decision based on the animal's symptoms, health status, reproductive history and regional conditions. It includes practical information on silent heat, appropriate time for artificial insemination (AI), identification and management of abnormal reproductive discharge, balanced nutrition, mineral supplementation and other scientific reproduction and management measures. This register will prove useful in increasing the success rate of conception, improving reproductive efficiency and reducing economic losses in dairy animal husbandry.
This achievement is being considered an important achievement in the field of animal husbandry and animal reproduction research in the country along with LUVAS.
