Banga, August 21:- The torch of 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan' was welcomed with great pomp and show by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district at Banga. On this occasion, Banga MLA Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi, Sports Chairperson Banga S. Bhullar, District Sports Officer Vandana Chauhan and national level players, athletes and other dignitaries were present.
The torch was welcomed with full respect and homage was paid to Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Ji. On this occasion, special enthusiasm was seen among the players and sports lovers. After this, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district sent the torch with great respect for the next leg to Jalandhar district.
On this occasion, MLA Banga Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi said that sports are an important part of our life and sports keep our body healthy. He said that all possible efforts are being made by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, to promote sports. He said that this torch is conveying the message of sportsmanship, unity and enthusiasm towards sports among the youth and players of Punjab. He appealed to the players to participate in sports with greater enthusiasm.
