Garhshankar (Hari Krishan Gangar):- The English Department of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, functioning under the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), organised an academic activity on “MLA 8: The Researcher’s Guide to Academic Writing” under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. Prof. Navdeep Singh participated as the keynote speaker. He provided detailed information on the correct use of citations, preparation of the Works Cited page, appropriate acknowledgement of sources and the ethical use of scholarly material. Special emphasis was also laid on avoiding plagiarism, maintaining academic integrity and developing scholarly research-writing skills.
College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera appreciated the initiative taken by the English Department. He emphasised the importance of ethical values in research, the correct use of citations and academic integrity. He encouraged teachers and students to adopt a research-oriented approach and strive for excellence in academic writing. The programme was organised by Prof. Poonam, while Prof. Ritu Singh served as the coordinator.
