Garhshankar (Hari Krishan Gangar):- A six-day employability and skill development training workshop for female students was organised at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, functioning under the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), under the directions of Eng. Sukhmander Singh, Secretary, Directorate of Education, and the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera.
The workshop was organised by the college’s Career Guidance and Placement Cell in collaboration with the IQAC, Mahindra Pride Classroom and the Naandi Foundation. During the workshop, female students received practical training in personality development, soft skills, decision-making, leadership, problem-solving and interview skills.
Resource person Ritika from the Naandi Foundation guided the students on interview preparation, appropriate attire, professional grooming, self-introduction, effective communication and answering questions confidently. Mock interviews were also conducted, giving the students practical experience of actual interviews.
The students were also encouraged to recognise their potential, improve their skills and make better career decisions.
At the conclusion, Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera said that such workshops were highly important for the advancement and empowerment of girls. She added that these programmes helped students develop confidence, skills and self-reliance and prepared them to progress in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Coordinator of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell, thanked everyone and said that organising such workshops for the overall development of students had become a continuous practice at the college. Prof. Kiranjot Kaur performed the role of stage anchor.
Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Coordinator of the IQAC, Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Prof. Manveer Kumar and other staff members were also present on the occasion.
