International Yoga Day to be celebrated on June 21st at various places in the district under "CM's Yogashala"

S.A.S. Nagar, June 20, 2025- Under the important health care scheme of the Punjab Government "CM's Yogashala", International Yoga Day will be celebrated in the district on June 21st with great enthusiasm and pomp. The district level function will be held at Sports Complex, Sector 78, Mohali at 6 am.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Geetika Singh said after holding a meeting in this regard today that the active participation of the district administration and Ayurveda Directorate has been ensured in this function.
Group yoga practice programs, yoga performances, health awareness activities will be organized at this district and block level. Large participation of the general public, students, yoga instructors, health workers and social organizations is being ensured in this function.
District Yoga Coordinator Pratima Dawar said that this mega campaign started with the 'Punjab Yoga Samagam 2025' organized in Jalandhar on June 19, in which more than 21,000 people set a new record by practicing yoga collectively. The event has become a symbol of public awareness about yoga across the state ahead of International Yoga Day.
She said that under the "CM's Yogashala" scheme, hundreds of trained yoga teachers are already conducting free yoga classes in neighborhoods, parks, schools and community places across the state. The government's motto is - "Yoga in every home, health in every mind", and taking this thought forward, International Yoga Day is being made a celebration for the public.
It is worth mentioning that the state government has also appealed to all citizens to participate in this historic yoga festival on June 21 and actively contribute in building a healthy, strong and aware Punjab.
Apart from this, International Yoga Day will be celebrated in front of the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji outside the international airport in the district, Shri Ram Bhawan Dussehra Ground Kharar, Municipal Council Office, Kurali, Municipal Council Office, Niyagraon, BDPO Office, Majri, Nagar Panchayat Office, Gharuan and Ashok Vatika Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Gulabgarh, Derabassi.
