Tawadu (Nuh):- On Sunday morning, due to dense fog on KMP Expressway in Mohammadpur Ahir police station area of ??the district, a vehicle applied brakes and five vehicles coming behind it collided with each other. First a dumper loaded with gravel collided, followed by a container, which then collided with the dumper. The container and the dumper caught fire.
Due to the fire, the driver and the cleaner of the container were trapped in it, in which the driver Rakesh (27) son of Kailash, resident of Ranhiya ka Bas, police station Patan, district Sikar, Rajasthan and Khalasi Deshraj son of Jasvir, resident of Vada Kuan ki Dhani village Kharkhari, district Alwar, Rajasthan were burnt alive.
The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles managed to escape with the help of locals, but the fire from the dumper was so fierce that everything was reduced to ashes in no time. After this horrific accident, the entire KMP road remained completely blocked for more than four hours.
An Amazon container going from Gurugram to Lucknow was also completely burnt in the accident. Ashwani Kumar, the owner of the container, who reached the spot, said that goods worth about ?1.25 crore were burnt.
Some of the remaining goods were safely transported by tractor, but due to the crowd, some goods were also picked up by local residents, which the police tried to stop. After the accident, a six-km-long traffic jam occurred on the expressway, which stretched from National Highway 8 to Pachgaon.
Visibility was poor due to heavy fog in the morning. The dumper driver suddenly saw a vehicle in the fog on KMP, due to which he asked to apply the brakes. While the dumper was braking, a container truck coming from behind collided with the dumper.
The dumper and the container caught fire, injuring the container's driver and cleaner. The incident also caused three vehicles behind the container to collide. Three fire engines tried to put out the fire, but by then the vehicles had burnt down. Police are investigating the matter.
