Chandigarh, October 9:- With the objective of encouraging and honouring women who have done commendable work in various fields in Haryana, the Department of Women and Child Development has invited online applications for state-level awards for the year 2026–27. Eligible and interested applicants can apply through the website [onlinemis.wcdhry.gov.in/gaurav](http://onlinemis.wcdhry.gov.in/gaurav) until November 5, 2026.
A government spokesperson said that the major awards offered in different categories include the ‘Smt. Sushma Swaraj Award’, carrying ₹5 lakh, a certificate of appreciation and a shawl; the ‘Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award’, carrying ₹1.50 lakh and a certificate of appreciation; the ‘Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Award’, carrying ₹1 lakh and a certificate of appreciation; and the ‘Behen Shanno Devi Panchayati Raj Award’, carrying ₹1 lakh and a certificate of appreciation.
In addition, winners in the categories of government employees, social workers and women entrepreneurs will receive a cash award of ₹21,000, a certificate of appreciation and a shawl.
The spokesperson further stated that all applications received at the district level would be scrutinised by the District-Level Recommendation Committee. After the necessary verification and police verification of eligible cases recommended by the committee, the cases would be forwarded to the headquarters within the stipulated time.
The general public has been urged to share information about the scheme with eligible women who have done commendable work in various fields, as well as eligible individuals in the relevant categories, and encourage them to apply within the prescribed deadline.
