Chandigarh, May 29:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, chairing a high-level meeting on Friday regarding the preparations for International Yoga Day-2026, directed the officials that this year too, International Yoga Day should be organized on a grand scale with wide public participation across the state. This year, the theme of Yoga Day will be "Yoga for Healthy Ageing". All the District Deputy Commissioners connected through online medium.
The Chief Minister said that the state-level main program will be organized in Panchkula this time, while special Yoga programs will be organized at the district, sub-division and gram panchayat levels to take Yoga to the masses.
The Chief Minister said that the theme of International Yoga Day this year has been fixed by the Government of India as "Yoga for Healthy Ageing". According to this theme, Yoga camps, awareness campaigns and special programs will be organized across the state, so that people, especially senior citizens, can be motivated towards Yoga and a healthy lifestyle is encouraged.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Yoga has received unprecedented recognition and respect at the international level. Today, the whole world is adopting this ancient culture and way of life of India. He said that the Haryana Government is working with commitment to build a healthy India and a healthy Haryana by connecting the youth with Indian culture and traditions.
The Chief Minister directed the officials that the Yoga Day program should not be limited to a formal event, but should be given the form of a mass movement. He said that maximum people should be connected to Yoga by ensuring the active participation of schools, colleges, panchayats, social organizations and voluntary organizations.
Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra told the meeting that extensive arrangements are being made for the successful organization of Yoga Day. She presented the outline of celebrating Yoga Day in detail.
Haryana Yoga Commission President Jaideep Arya said that everyone's participation is necessary for the successful organization of Yoga Day. Schools, colleges, universities, panchayats, municipalities, municipal councils, social and religious institutions have been linked with Yoga. Rallies will be taken out to create awareness about Yoga. The final rehearsal for Yoga Day will be organized on June 19.
He said that Yoga Jagran Yatras will be organized from June 8 to June 10. Apart from this, a Yoga Marathon will be organized on June 15. Training camps will be organized from June 16 to June 18, where training on Yoga protocols will be imparted.
Cabinet Minister Aarti Singh Rao, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and senior administrative officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
