Ratia, October 4 (Advocate Gurpreet Singh Mander):- Swarn Singh Ratia, Chairman of the Gatka Association of Haryana, warmly welcomed the players, coaches and entire Haryana team upon their return after an impressive performance in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that at the Senior National Gatka Championship held from September 29 to October 1 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, the Haryana team delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 46 medals and bringing glory to the state. Haryana players displayed excellent sporting skills in various age categories and events.
Giving details of the team's performance and leadership, Gurjit Singh, Director of Guru Nanak Defence Academy, Ratia, said that in the Boys Under-19 Demo Team event, Ankush Hansi, Aryan Jind, Hardeep Singh, Jagjot Singh Hisar, Jugjit Singh Hisar, Kulvir Singh and Ranjit Singh Fatehabad won silver medals. In the individual Demo event, Hardeep Singh Fatehabad won a bronze medal and brought honour to Haryana. In the 25-year age category Demo event, Ankit Jind, Gaurav Panipat, Gurbachan Singh, Gursimran Panipat, Harjit Singh, Harmandeep Singh Fatehabad, Harsimran Singh, Jaswant Singh Sirsa, Maninder Singh, Ravi Kumar Fatehabad and Sharanjot Singh Toor Hisar delivered an excellent performance and won silver medals. In the individual Fari Soti event of the same age category, Gurbaz Singh Fatehabad won a silver medal. In the Fari Soti team event, Gurbaz Singh, Jashandeep Singh, Param Singh and Sagar Singh Fatehabad won bronze medals. In the 30-year age category individual Demo event, Sarabjit Singh Yamunanagar won a silver medal. In the Single Soti team event, Bhupinder Singh Fatehabad, Harbans Singh Fatehabad and Sushil Kumar Hansi won bronze medals.
Haryana's women players also delivered an impressive performance. In the 19-year age category individual Fari Soti event, Komal Sirsa won a silver medal. In the 25-year age category Fari Soti team event, Amandeep Kaur Sirsa, Khushwinder Fatehabad, Neha Karnal, Payal Karnal and Simranjit Kaur Fatehabad won silver medals. In the women's team Demo event, Anshul Bhiwani, Aarti Kaithal, Bhateri Hansi, Husampreet Kaur Fatehabad, Bhateri Fatehabad, Manu Hansi, Siya Dabar Hansi and Suman won bronze medals and brought glory to Haryana. In the 30-year age category individual Demo event, Sonali Sirsa won a bronze medal.
The Haryana team was led by Gurjit Singh Ratia. The technical team included Baltej Singh Sirsa and Gurdhian Singh. Demo events coach Prabhsharan Singh Tohana, fight coach Sukhchain Singh Fatehabad, team manager Ranjit Kaur Hisar, assistant Gurvansh Singh Uklana and media adviser Avi Singh Fatehabad performed important responsibilities with the team.
Swarn Singh Ratia, Chairman of the Gatka Association of Haryana, congratulated the Haryana team players, coaches and the entire team for their excellent performance and extended his best wishes for the future. He said that the players' performance at the national level is proof of the growing popularity of Gatka in Haryana and the hard work of the players.
