Haroli/Una, June 13 (Rajveer Chopra): Six youths from Singa village in the Haroli subdivision, selected for the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme, were honored. On this occasion, Gurdev Singh—also known as 'Gyani Baba Singa Walon'—a former Gram Panchayat Pradhan and social worker, boosted the youths' morale by presenting them with an incentive of ?1,100 each.
The selected youths—Sanjeev Kumar, Dimpal Kumar, Rohan Rana, Sagar Rana, Vivek Chaudhary, and Shikhar Sharma—were congratulated by Gyani Baba, who also wished them a bright future.
Speaking on the occasion, Gyani Baba remarked that there is no greater duty than serving the nation, and the recruitment of local youths into the Army and police forces is a matter of pride for the entire village. He announced that any youth from Singa village who serves in the Army or police department in the future would be honored by him with an incentive of ?1,100 and a shawl.
He stated that the selection of six youths from the village under the Agniveer scheme is a source of pride for the entire region. Through their hard work and dedication, these youths have brought honor not only to their families but to the entire village. Their achievement has created an atmosphere of joy in the village.
Several dignitaries and villagers were present on the occasion, including Gram Panchayat Singa Secretary Sneh Lata, Patwari Jagtar Singh, Mehar Singh, Mohinder Pal, Pramod Kumar, and Amrik Singh.
