Chandigarh, June 25:- Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh reviewed the progress of the lift installation work at Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital in Panchkula with the state's Public Works Minister Mr. Ranbir Gangwa and directed to complete it at the earliest, so that better and comfortable facilities can be provided to the patients visiting the hospital, especially the disabled, senior citizens and their family members.
Public Works Minister Mr. Ranbir Gangwa paid a courtesy call on the Governor at Lok Bhawan, Chandigarh today. During this, various development works were discussed.
Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh said that all such works related to public interest should be completed on priority basis in a time-bound manner so that the people can get the benefits of them soon.
It is worth mentioning that the Governor has approved a grant of Rs. 1.50 crore for providing better health facilities to the patients at Saket Hospital in Panchkula and strengthening the health infrastructure. Out of this amount, Rs. 1 crore will be spent on installation of a modern lift and Rs. 50 lakh will be spent on purchase of essential medical and other equipment.
During the meeting, the Governor also reviewed various development works underway in the state. While discussing the drinking water system, he directed Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, who is also holding the charge of the Public Health Engineering Department, to make the drinking water supply system in the rural areas of the state more strong and effective.
Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh also received information about the progress of the infrastructure development projects underway in the state and stressed on maintaining continuous momentum in development works to provide better facilities to the citizens.
