Patiala:- A delegation of farmers, angry over the lack of adequate electricity supply to farmers for the past several days, today met the SDO at the focal point office of PSPCL under the leadership of **Dhanna Singh Daun Kalan**, President of **Jamhoori Kisan Sabha** and demanded an immediate solution to the problem of electricity supply.
The farmers told the officer that the government is making claims of providing eight hours of electricity, but in reality they are not getting electricity for the entire time. Due to this, the work of paddy planting is being badly affected and the farmers are facing huge difficulties.
The SDO assured the farmer leaders that the problem of electricity supply will be resolved soon. He said that in addition to ensuring continuous electricity supply to the farmers as per the stipulated time, efforts will also be made to compensate for the less supply received during the past few days.
On this occasion, Taranjit Singh Sarpanch (Rasulpur), Rajinder Singh Former Sarpanch (Daun Kalan), Darshan Singh Belu Majra, Rajinder Singh Dhaliwal, Amir Singh Rasulpur and other farmer leaders were also present.
Finally, the farmer leaders said that if there is no rain in the coming days, then an even more serious crisis may arise for agriculture. They said that in such a situation, the farmers will have to further strengthen their organizational strength and if necessary, they will have to be ready for a struggle against the higher authorities and the government, so that uninterrupted and complete power supply can be ensured to the farmers and other consumers.
