Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 28 January 2026:- The District Red Cross Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, in collaboration with World Cancer Care Charitable Society, organized a free cancer screening and awareness camp today regarding various health issues at the District Administrative Complex (DC Complex), Mohali.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, District Red Cross Society, Smt. Komal Mittal stated that during the camp, expert doctors present provided complete consultation and advice on the health problems of the individuals who came for screening, and necessary medical investigations were conducted.
She informed that during the camp, screenings for various types of cancer, bone-related checks, blood samples for sugar, blood pressure, and other diseases were taken. In addition, after near-vision testing, free spectacles were distributed to those in need.
Smt. Komal Mittal said that during this camp, a total of 350 beneficiaries, including officers/employees of the DC Complex and those who came from outside, fully availed the free health screening. The camp received commendable response from the people.
She said that in the coming time, more such camps will also be organized in villages and cities so that timely detection and treatment of serious diseases like cancer can save precious lives.
Providing more information, the Deputy Commissioner stated that all reports of the investigations conducted during the camp will be sent via SMS to the mobile numbers provided by the patients. Through the link given in the SMS, the report can be downloaded and also listened to.
