Nawanshahr, October 3 (Des Raj Bali):- The fourth programme in the series of Gurmat gatherings initiated across the district by Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society, dedicated to the Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, was held with great devotion and high spirits at Gurdwara Dhan Dhan Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed in Akliana village. The programme was organised in an atmosphere of deep religious devotion and Chardi Kala. The beautifully decorated and attractive pandal arranged by the Gurdwara management committee witnessed the commencement of the programme with the recitation of Sodar Rehras Sahib Ji.
After the completion of the recitation, Bhai Nirbhai Singh, Hazoori Ragi Jatha of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, enthralled the devotees with pure and devotional Gurbani Kirtan. The devotees joined in reciting the Shabads sung by the Ragi Jatha and thoroughly enjoyed the Kirtan. Thereafter, Giani Surjit Singh Sabhra, Head Granthi of Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed, Sri Amritsar Sahib, shared detailed historical information with the congregation about the Gurgaddi Purab of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji and the 14-year life journey of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj at Sultanpur Lodhi.
Before the conclusion of the programme, Surjit Singh, chief Sevadar of Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society, expressed special gratitude to the congregation associated with Gurdwara Dhan Dhan Baba Deep Singh Ji, which has been continuously rendering the service of cleaning utensils during the great Kirtan Darbar organised in Nawanshahr for the last seven consecutive years. He appealed to the devotees to participate in large numbers and continue their service during the Kirtan Darbar to be held in Nawanshahr on November 14, 15 and 16. The stage proceedings during the programme were conducted by Bhai Tarlochan Singh Khatkar Kalan. A large number of devotees participated in the programme. At the conclusion of today's Gurmat gathering, Bhai Harnek Singh Ji, President of the Gurdwara Management Committee, was specially honoured by the Society.
On the occasion, among the devotees were Harpal Singh, Harjinder Singh, Jagan Nath Singh, Tarlok Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Satish Singh, Palwinder Singh and Pradeep Singh. From the Society, Uttam Singh Sethi, Didar Singh Gahoon, Jagdeep Singh, Tarlochan Singh Khatkar Kalan, Inderjit Singh Bahra, Parminder Singh Kanwal, Jaswinder Singh Saini, Baba Gian Singh, Jagjit Singh Bata, Palwinder Singh Kariyam, Dr. Bhagwan Singh, Bakshish Singh Saini, Kuljit Singh Khalsa, Paramjit Singh Moosapur, Rampal Rai, Gurpal Singh, Daljit Singh Badwal and Surinder Singh were also present.
