Chandigarh: In commemoration of the martyrdom of the Four Sahibzadas, a four-day langar (community kitchen) service was organized from December 25th to 28th in Sector 20, Chandigarh, opposite HDFC Bank, on the auspicious occasion of Shaheedi Diwas (Martyrdom Day). This was done to pay homage to their great sacrifice and to uphold the values ??of courage, faith, and selfless service.
The langar was organized under the leadership of Parbjot Singh Prince, President of the Youth Club Sector 20, with the active participation of members Ajay Sharma, Gurpreet Singh Soni, Sharanjit Singh (Deputy), Karamveer Singh, Sarju, Happy Virk, Upinder Bedi, Honey, Ramesh Batra, Tarandeep Singh, Vicky, Sunil Chopra, Gokul Sharma, and Raja Canada, who served on different days and ensured the successful conduct of the program.
During the four days, a large number of residents and passersby partook in the langar, symbolizing the eternal message of equality, brotherhood, and sacrifice embodied by the Four Sahibzadas. On various dates, the langar was graced by several prominent personalities, including Mrs. Taruna Mehta, Deputy Mayor, Yadwinder Mehta, Dr. O.P. Verma, Vishal Gupta, Lovely Sharma, and Ashwani Sharma, who offered their respects and appreciated the initiative led by the youth dedicated to remembrance and social welfare.
Addressing the gathering, Parbjot Singh Prince said that organizing the langar service on Shaheedi Diwas is a humble effort to keep alive the ideals of bravery, righteousness, and service exemplified by the Four Sahibzadas and to inspire society, especially the youth, to follow the path of selfless service. The Youth Club Sector 20 expressed its resolve to continue such social and religious initiatives in the future.
