Una, October 21:- Efforts are underway to advance various development projects worth around ₹100 crore in Rora, Haroli, under an integrated plan. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri visited the area on Wednesday to review the progress of construction work and discuss with officials the use of land for proposed projects, along with future requirements. He directed officials to accelerate work on the heliport, being built at a cost of around ₹22 crore, in line with the target of completing it by July 2027. He also called for planned use of government land and proper arrangements for basic facilities such as parking and drainage.

The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the construction of a synthetic athletics track being developed near the heliport at a cost of around ₹10 crore. He said several projects were being developed simultaneously in the area, making better coordination among them essential to ensure that future development of buildings, parking, drainage and other facilities does not face any obstacles.

A Clear Plan for Land Use

Mukesh Agnihotri directed officials to clearly determine how the available government land in Rora would be used for different projects. A comprehensive plan should be prepared specifying which land would be allocated to each project and where space would be reserved for buildings, parking and other facilities. If required, the services of an architect should be sought to prepare an integrated plan for the entire area so that development work can proceed in an orderly manner.

He said all essential facilities, including drainage and parking, must be taken into account in the projects. He directed the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department and other concerned officials to complete the work within the stipulated deadlines.

Facilities to Be Developed Along the New Haroli Development Path

The road from the Sombhadra Bridge to the Haroli Jal Shakti Bhawan is being developed as the New Haroli Development Path. Several important projects are being developed on the land available alongside it. Construction of the traffic park, at a cost of around ₹14 crore, has been completed, while the Jal Shakti Bhawan has been built at a cost of approximately ₹12 crore.

In addition, an automated testing station is being constructed at a cost of ₹5 crore. Once operational, it will provide driving tests, vehicle fitness inspections and vehicle passing facilities at a single location. Other projects proposed for the area include a judicial complex, indoor stadium, fairground, Industries Department offices and an ex-servicemen's building.

Together, these completed, ongoing and proposed projects account for development works worth around ₹100 crore in the area. The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to develop all projects in accordance with the area's present and future needs so that subsequent changes would not be required because of a shortage of basic facilities.

Those present during the visit included Ranjit Rana, General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee; Yograj Yoga, Pradhan of Beetan Gram Panchayat; Harbans Lal Sharma, Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department; Nitin Chaudhary, Executive Engineer; and Rajan Sharma, Tehsildar, Haroli.
