Karnal, July 16: MLA Jagmohan Anand stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will usher India into a new era of green and modern transportation by flagging off the country's first hydrogen-powered train from the historic land of Jind on Friday, July 17. Furthermore, he will present a major gift of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees to the state of Haryana from Jind itself. An eco-friendly rally will be held in Jind for the first time. Live broadcast events regarding the Prime Minister's program will be organized at all district headquarters across the state, allowing the public to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address.
He remarked that Haryana is once again set to witness a significant initiative linked to the nation's technological progress and modern infrastructure. On July 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the country's first hydrogen train project on the Jind-Sonipat rail section. This project will not only propel Indian Railways towards a clean energy-based transport system but also reinforce the resolve for a Developed India (Viksit Bharat), Green India, and Self-Reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat). He described the Jind-Sonipat hydrogen train project as a landmark achievement in the history of Indian Railways, marking a decisive step for India in the realm of hydrogen fuel-based rail transport. This initiative is expected to yield far-reaching results in promoting environmental conservation, energy efficiency, and a modern public transport system. He noted that the design, manufacturing, and conversion of this train are entirely indigenous. This achievement strengthens the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives while highlighting the expertise of Indian engineers and scientists. He added that the project would bolster rail connectivity for Haryana, particularly in areas linked to the National Capital Region (NCR). Passengers will gain access to modern, safe, clean, and eco-friendly public transport. Improved connectivity will also boost industry, trade, investment, tourism, and logistics activities, thereby injecting new energy into the state's economic development. He stated that the entire world is moving towards a clean energy-based transport system today. India, too, is advancing rapidly in this direction, and the hydrogen trainset project stands as a powerful example of this transformation.
