Jalandhar:- On the occasion of Vijay Diwas 2025, a historic and memorable Ex-Servicemen’s Honour Ceremony was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Agarwal Sammelan, Punjab Pradesh at Red Cross Bhawan, Jalandhar. The ceremony was dedicated to the courage, patriotism, valor and sacrifice of the brave soldiers of Punjab. 350 Ex-Servicemen and 16 Martyr Families from different districts like Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur were felicitated with special honors.
The ceremony was attended by Punjab Government Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, LPU Chairman Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Naresh Mittal, Jalandhar Mayor Vineet Dhir, and Aam Aadmi Party Jalandhar Halqa Incharge Nitin Kohli as the chief guests. The ceremony was led by State President Surendra Agarwal.
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said in his address that the soldiers of Punjab are the backbone of the country's security. Their dedicated role and bravery in every difficult situation keeps the borders of India safe.
State President Surendra Agarwal, while describing Vijay Diwas as an immortal story of the brave, said that the soldiers and the families of the martyrs are the biggest heritage of the country. He announced that the conference will make the honor of the soldiers a social ritual by organizing such honor ceremonies every year.
LPU Chairman Ramesh Mittal termed the soldiers as the biggest inspiration for nation-building. Jalandhar Mayor Vineet Dhir said that it is the duty and pride of the society to honor the families of the martyrs.
On this occasion, the Jalandhar Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association also honored State President Surendra Agarwal for national spirit and social service. LPU Directors Girish Bhatt and Parvjot Kaur presented patriotic programs, while Patiala Director Som Sahota presented patriotic presentations by school children, which brought tears to the eyes of everyone present at the event.
The success of the event was due to the significant contribution of State Chairman Manmohan Mittal, Mahamantri Ashok Agarwal, Senior Vice President Harish Goyal, Spokesperson Dhaniram Gupta, Mahila President Simran Agarwal and all other officers and members.
The event concluded with the national anthem. In the end, Manmohan Mittal, Ashok Agarwal and Harish Goyal thanked all the ex-servicemen, martyr families and invited guests.
