Detailed discussions were held on various topics, including bank performance up to the quarter ending March 2026, financial inclusion, agricultural credit, social security schemes, and the expansion of digital banking.
Presiding over the meeting, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Una, Vinay Modi, stated that banks in Una district surpassed their annual credit target of ?3,167.11 crore for the year 2025-26 by disbursing loans amounting to ?3,582.74 crore. He remarked that this achievement serves as a testament to the expansion of economic activities, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and the strengthening of the pace of development in the district.
He noted that total bank deposits in the district have risen to ?16,751.94 crore, marking an increase of 11.63 percent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, total outstanding credit has reached ?5,388.51 crore, reflecting a growth of 13.79 percent. He described this progress in the banking sector as a positive indicator of the district's strengthening economy.

**Greater Boost for the Agricultural Sector**
Prioritizing the agricultural sector, the meeting placed special emphasis on expanding farmers' access to credit facilities. It was reported that credit worth ?1,006.98 crore has been extended to the agricultural sector in the district, accounting for 18.69 percent of the total credit disbursed.
Vinay Modi urged banks to further enhance efforts towards increasing farmers' income, promoting farm mechanization and agricultural infrastructure development, and boosting credit disbursement through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme. He stated that under the 'Kheti Bachao Abhiyan' (Save Farming Campaign), a special drive would be launched to provide new Kisan Credit Cards to eligible farmers via the 'Krishika' app, enabling a greater number of farmers to access institutional banking services.

**Special focus on nomination and settlement of claims for deceased account holders**
The meeting emphasized ensuring 100% compliance with the nomination process for bank accounts. Banks were instructed to raise customer awareness regarding the importance of nomination and to ensure that nominations are recorded for every eligible account.
Additionally, emphasis was placed on ensuring the swift and simplified settlement—on a priority basis—of pending claims related to deceased account holders, so that affected families could receive timely relief.
The campaign aims to enroll the maximum number of eligible individuals in schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), National Pension System (NPS), and other social security schemes. Special camps, public awareness programs, and customer outreach activities will be organized for this purpose.

**Emphasis on extending the benefits of self-employment and government schemes to more people**
The Assistant Commissioner urged all banks to ensure that the benefits of bank loan schemes, self-employment programs, and government-sponsored schemes reach the maximum number of eligible individuals. He noted that this would provide opportunities for youth, women, farmers, and entrepreneurs to become self-reliant and would impart new momentum to economic activities in the district.
He instructed banks to ensure the timely, transparent, and sensitive processing of loan applications received under government schemes.

**Emphasis on raising awareness about cybersecurity**
Furthermore, expressing concern over rising cybercrimes and online fraud, the meeting highlighted the need for continuous customer awareness regarding digital security. Banks were asked to regularly educate the public on adopting safe digital banking practices.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the efforts being made by various banks and departments to promote financial inclusion, agricultural development, social security schemes, and digital banking were appreciated. **Special Campaign to be Launched for Social Security Schemes**
