Garhshankar (Hari Krishan Gangar):- Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and Garhshankar MLA S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri visited the Saila Khurd grain market and reviewed the arrangements for paddy procurement. He interacted with farmers and discussed the arrival of the crop, procurement, lifting and other facilities with officials.
He directed the officials to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience and that procurement continues smoothly. He said the Punjab Government is committed to procuring every grain of paddy from farmers and that the process is being continuously monitored.
He said farmers should not be made to wait unnecessarily and that procurement and lifting arrangements should be strengthened. Agriculture and farmers are important to Punjab's economy, and all necessary arrangements must be ensured at the mandis.
He directed the officials to resolve any issues immediately and said there would be no negligence in the procurement process. Farmers also apprised him of their problems, following which he assured them that the government would make no compromise on their interests and would stand firmly with them.
He said every grain of paddy would be procured and lifted.
Chairman of the Market Committee office Baldeep Singh Saini, Zila Parishad member Inderjit Singh Bariyana, Secretary Virinder Kumar, officials and employees of government procurement agencies and the Mandi Board, commission agents and farmers were present on the occasion.
