Una, February 1: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today (Sunday) participated in religious programs organized in Gondpur, Dulehar, Beetan, Bathri, Baliwal, Lalri, Bhadsali, and Saloh villages under the Haroli assembly constituency on the occasion of Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti. During this time, he paid his respects at the temples and extended his best wishes and congratulations to the management committees for organizing the programs.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the life of Saint Guru Ravidas ji gives a message of harmony, equality, and brotherhood in society. His thoughts continue to guide society in the right direction even today. He said that Guru Ravidas ji inspired people to follow the path of humanity, karma, and truth without any discrimination.
**State Government committed to the protection, strengthening, and beautification of religious sites**
Mukesh Agnihotri said that the state government is fully committed to the protection, strengthening, and beautification of centers of religious faith. He informed that crores of rupees are being spent on the development of temples in the Haroli assembly constituency so that better basic facilities can be provided to the devotees and the dignity of the religious sites is maintained.
He informed that an amount of Rs. 25 lakh each has been provided to the Guru Ravidas Temple Committees of Baliwal, Lalri, Saloh, and Dulehar for the strengthening and beautification of the temples, Rs. 15 lakh each to the Panjwar and Haroli Guru Ravidas Temple Committees, and Rs. 71 lakh to the Bhadsali Guru Ravidas Temple Committee. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is prioritizing the overall development of temples across the state and every possible cooperation will be extended to further accelerate the development of religious sites in the Haroli region.
**Significant changes in the field of education in Haroli**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that remarkable development has taken place in the field of education in the Haroli assembly constituency. This has benefited the girls of Haroli the most. Rural girls have brought glory to Haroli in the country and the state through education. Students who have received education from nursing and law colleges are now serving in various high positions, which is a matter of pride for the entire region. Currently, the Haroli constituency is a strong example of the transformation that has taken place in the field of education.
He informed that approximately Rs. 1,000 crore is being spent on irrigation and drinking water schemes in the district. In the Haroli assembly constituency, the Beet Irrigation Scheme-II will be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 75 crore, which will provide better irrigation facilities to the entire region and strengthen agriculture. He also informed that a drinking water scheme is being constructed in Haroli at a cost of Rs. 7 crore and a rest house at a cost of Rs. 10 crore, which will be completed soon and dedicated to the public.
Regarding matters related to Panchayats, the Deputy Chief Minister said that after the completion of the term of the Panchayat heads, the responsibility has been entrusted to the BDOs and Panchayat secretaries to maintain the continuity of development works in the respective areas, so that no administrative obstacles arise.
**Participation in a blood donation camp held in Tahliwal**
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also participated in a voluntary blood donation camp organized in Tahliwal on the occasion of the 87th birth anniversary of late Kanwar Hari Singh. This camp was organized under the joint auspices of Press Club Haroli, Industrial Area Tahliwal, and BDC Blood Center Nawanshahr, Punjab. He said that late Kanwar Hari Singh, the founder of Himotkarsh Parishad and a great social worker who dedicated his life to humanity, compassion, and selfless service, did remarkable work in social activities. He said that blood donation is the greatest service to humanity and there is no substitute for blood. Timely availability of blood plays a crucial role in saving many lives.
He appealed to the youth and all sections of society to donate blood voluntarily on a regular basis and said that such camps strengthen social awareness, as well as the spirit of service and mutual cooperation. The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the organizers of the blood donation camp and said that such initiatives are an inspiration for society. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced a grant of Rs. 50 lakh for the strengthening of roads and link roads in the Tahliwal area. He said that the improvement of roads and pathways in the area would provide better connectivity for the general public and give a new impetus to development works.
He also announced a grant of Rs. 51,000 to the Haroli Press Club for press and media activities. He said that the media plays a crucial role in a democracy and empowering press institutions is the need of the hour.
